Why Are You Cheaper Than the Big Glass Chains?

Hey folks! This is John from Freedom Auto Glass LLC.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from you all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"Why Are You Cheaper Than the Big Glass Chains?"

Summary:

John attributes his lower prices to two main factors: no hidden fees and low overhead. He explains that large chains often add charges that don't appear on their online quotes — such as tariff fees, COVID relief fees, disposal fees, and mobile fees — so the final bill ends up much larger than the customer expected. By contrast, the price he quotes is exactly what the customer pays when he leaves, with no add-ons. He also notes that as a one-person operation, he carries far less overhead than a company with a thousand employees, so he doesn't need to inflate the price of each windshield to support a large corporate structure. He keeps his costs low and passes the savings to the customer through honest, transparent pricing.

Answer:

The main reason is that I don't bury hidden fees in my quotes. A lot of the big stores will hit you with things like tariff fees, COVID relief fees, disposal fees, mobile fees — charges they don't show you on that online quote you got. So you think you're paying one price, and then by the time the service is actually done, it's turned into a giant bill with all these add-ons you never agreed to. I don't do any of that. Whatever price I tell you, that's the price when I leave — that's what you pay, period. On top of that, I just have way less overhead than they do. I'm not running a company with a thousand employees, so I don't need to overcharge on every windshield to cover all of that. It's just me. I keep my costs low and I pass that on to you, instead of padding the bill to feed a big corporate operation. Honest pricing and low overhead — that's really the whole secret.
